As we head towards the season to be jolly, I always look forward to the array of films on offer. Snuggling down under the duvet to watch a movie is one of my guilty pleasures.Frazzled mums need this ‘me time’.
So if you can get some time on your own (or with the family if they can be quiet), settle down, dim the lights, grab something warm and sweet and off we go…
These are my Top 10 films to watch (in no particular order as it was hard enough to think of my Top 10 – let alone put them in order..)
Who doesn’t love love? Love is all around and is a plethora of who’s who in British cinema. Yummy.
Intriguing question of what if? What if you took the left turn instead of the right, how different would your life be? What if you didn’t miss the train to work? Mmm what if…?
Even if you’re not a fan of Abba (and I’m not) this is such a beautifully shot film. It’ll make you want to buy a red pashmina, baggy dungarees and find a Greek island to escape to.
4.Pay it forward
This is a life affirming cinematic experience. The principle of ‘pay it forward’ is embedded in my psyche after watching this extremely emotional film – be warned.
5.It’s a Wonderful Life
Again, the lessons of life and it’s worth. The best things in life aren’t things.
6.Star is Born
Even if you’re not a fan of Barbra Streisand (and I most definitely am) this musical is so powerful it’ll leave you tingling. Unselfish, all consuming love.
7.Time Traveller’s Wife
A bit of time travel mixed with a beautiful a love story. What’s not to like?
8.The Blind Side
A true story of friendship and the possibilities that life has to offer. Makes you feel proud
So what would your To Do List be if you knew that your life was limited? Makes you think.
And finally a fabulous feel-good film of a gutsy group of women who would not take no for an answer. We are going to need considerably bigger buns. Classic
Looking back at my choices there seems to be similar themes – love, laughter and thought-provoking. What would you Top 10 say about you?
